NEBOSH National General Certificate (2018 Syllabus)

NEBOSH is the awarding organisation of choice for Health & Safety Professionals. The training is academically demanding which has led the NEBOSH National General Certificate to be the most recognised and popular qualification in the UK and abroad. The ‘General Certificate’ is divided into 2 units, NG 1 covering Health and Safety Foundations, Law and Management Systems, and NG 2 covering the control of workplace hazards, a work-based practical assessment consisting of an inspection and report.

NEBOSH Construction Certificate 

The NEBOSH National Construction Certificate Health and Safety have long been established as the leading health and safety qualification for the construction industry. This course is suitable for supervisors and managers within the construction industry and is designed to provide a sound breadth of underpinning knowledge that enables them to carry out their health and safety duties more effectively. Many people take the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety as the first step in a career in health and safety. It provides a valuable overview and is a sound basis for further professional development.

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is divided into two units, each of which are assessed separately:
  • NCC1 – Managing and controlling hazards in construction activities
  • NCC2 – Health and safety practical application

NEBOSH Fire Certificate (Conversion Course)

The NEBOSH Fire Certificate (NFC) is a popular qualification enabling you to broaden your knowledge and skills of fire safety.  It provides you with the foundation to carry out fire risk assessments and embed good practice. It builds on to the NEBOSH General Certificate qualification. The ‘NEBOSH Fire Certificate’ is divided into 2 units, FC1 Fire Safety and Risk Management and FC 2 in the form of a work-based practical assessment consisting of an inspection and report. The NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management (5 Days) is for any student who has already passed NGC1 as part of a previous NEBOSH qualification, provided it was achieved within the last 5 years. It can be taken as a standalone qualification for those that do not want to complete the NG 1 aspect of the course.

The practical assessment is carried out in the candidate’s own workplace. The practical must be completed within 10 days after sitting the examination for the EC1 unit.
